The Incubator Project
We are delighted to be involved with the Nore Valley Park Incubator Project, hatching chicks in our school!
An incubator was delivered to our school with seven eggs. We have observed and learnt how to take care of our eggs. We waited for 21 days for our chicks to hatch. We checked the incubator temperature daily. The optimal temperature of the incubator is 37.5 degrees.
Farmer Kathleen came back to visit and check on our eggs. She brought our eggs out into a dark room and held them under a bright light. This process is called candling. The light shows how the chick is developing.
Four of our eggs have finally hatched!!
